Stags of the Mountains: You in the A Song of Ice and Fire BROB: With a Bonus!

HA!

I have to wonder for what, precisely, seeing as we talked about this exact thing happening during our previous conversation and he seemed alright with it.

Mostly because Albar went berserk and he doesn't care for that kind of chaos.

"Brother's prerogative, I think. You're not really supposed to like whoever it is your sister fancies. As relatively understanding as I've been myself, Mychel and I have an unspoken agreement. He doesn't hurt Mya, I don't show up in his rooms in the middle of the night and drag him out to the mountainside where I've dug a shallow grave."

She starts laughing at that. It's a sweet laugh.

Well, since I'm here already I might as well help Anna with moving stuff while those two talk ... and hope Mya is enough to keep them from coming to blows.

"Yes, I know, would you believe it just sort of happened?" I say under my breath in response to Anna's Look.

Luckily Mya seems to be able to keep things...cordial between the two of them.

As for stuff, well there are a few heavy things that might need moving but really not right now and it really wouldn't be proper to ask a knight. She has a few folks in town she could get to help.

"Explain..."

Psyckosama wrote:You manage to succeed. You're not at full ability and they are fleeing. You will not be able to stop them all but you will be able to stop several.

Good, I'll get two to confirm their story.

You see your sister and myranda about the unharmed, but several friendly valemen and riverlanders alike have fallen this day, along with many of the guests and workers at the in. None were spared. Not even children...

I snarl under my breath, I plan to let the survivors decide their fate.

Basically to build more... the one I built took probably didn't take too long to build.

Right.

"You remember what my memory is like. I've read every book in the Eyrie and the Gates of the Moon. Every book."

He stares at you for a moment, then shakes his head.

"Indeed." I smile, "It is no wonder that the Rhoynar treat their daughters with the same respect as sons. Might be onto something..."

"Not sure about that but they are nice to look at. Wild in the sack."

Indeed. I don't not look Wink

You might not want to ogle, trying to avoid being Bobby mk. 2.0 yes?

I thank her on behalf of my father and myself and generally act very polite and respectful.

Good.

I'm never disappointed to meet a beautiful and intelligent woman... though I have a gift for her father and business with her uncle.

"Oh?" She's curious now. "What is it?"

IT was an adventure. One I'm perfectly willing to tell her all about, should she ask...

She is curious and you'll have to tell her all about it, she's heard stories about how you fought 1000 Direwolves singlehandedly in the riverlands.

Ah. Well, okay, there is that. I can see how it would be frustrating.

Luckily Mya seems to be able to keep things...cordial between the two of them.

"The only way I could come up with of getting her out of an arranged marriage she was not exactly enthusiastic about. Well, the only way that didn't involve kidnapping," I sigh. "Granted, there were other factors too, and I can hardly pretend to be put upon by the result, but I thought it would be better to make an introduction now as just showing up with her on the day we'd decided to leave would probably have been immeasurably more awkward."

You capture the closest two. They're simply sellswords who were hired to do a job. They don't know shit.

You want to try and do anything? You're wounded, its the middle of the night, and they have several hours head start.

I snarl under my breath, I plan to let the survivors decide their fate.

They're going to be tried and publicly executed.

Edd

He stares at you for a moment, then shakes his head.

"I love books. Honestly I think one of the reasons I came up with the printing press is so I could get more books by making them cheaper... well that and bring the written word to the illiterate masses."

"Not sure about that but they are nice to look at.  Wild in the sack."

I give him a look. "And I hear savage on a battlefield."

He probably knows my strange feelings on female equality by now. I treat women with the same basic respect as I do men.

Probably makes me very popular with the ladies. They can actually have a conversation without me seeing them as simply a brainless set of self-propelled set of tits.

You might not want to ogle, trying to avoid being Bobby mk. 2.0 yes?

Ogle? No. Enjoy the view? Very much so.

"Oh?"  She's curious now.  "What is it?"

"With your uncle, it's personal. I'd like to talk with him for a time. As for your father's gift..." If look to Robert and if he nods, I bring out the box.

"I would like to present it to him officially, but since m'lady asked lets have a peek."

And I open the box to show her the gilded, mishapen, half crushed skull of Gregor Clegane.

In a very grim tone I say, "I assure you his last moments were filled with pain and terror. I made sure of it."

If can, I whisper to her in the language of the free cities, "We have another gift as well, but I wish to keep that one a surprise. He'll enjoy it very much. You all will take great pleasure from it."

She is curious and you'll have to tell her all about it, she's heard stories about how you fought 1000 Direwolves singlehandedly in the riverlands.

I give her a level, almost haunted look. "If only it was Dire Wolves..." I sigh. "I'll tell you this. Skin Changers are as real as Dragons once were. I lead a raid of a bandit camp and killed those within. It turns out they were Skin Changers who'd warged with the local wolf packs. When they died their souls went into the bodies of their animals and..." my face narrows, "Almost a hundred wolves with the minds vile raiders driven only by hated and vengence. I'd rather have faced Dire Wolves. At least they would have had the minds of beasts and not men...."

That he is. Well, at the very least I'll try to keep the promises I made there, even though I'm still not exactly sure just how much of my own approach was half-truths or manipulation.

"And what do you honestly feel about her.  Are you willing to swear your oaths and be faithful to her, do you love her?"

"That's a lot of questions. I think the same answer applies to all of those, though. No idea," I admit freely. "Then again, I've tried to let her come into this arrangement with her eyes open and I definitely don't want to see her cry. There's blood on it.

I ask Myranda if she's alright, once I get the answer I go to Mya I then say in a calm voice, "It's alright now. They're gone."

If she lets the sword go I wrap her up in a hug, this was her first fight, I know she's going to crash soon.  Then I go to check Myranda more extensively.

A message comes in saying that Oberyn's ship had landed in Planky town, he'll be to Sunspear in a few days.

"Three days forced march without rest, and only the food and water we could eat while moving and on guard. It was the closest thing to hell imaginable in this life. Even my visit to the wall was a polite respite in comparison..."

She outright shudders at that and Robert who was in earshot also goes a little wall-eyed.  "That was some nasty work there.  Worse I've had since the retreat at stony sept."

Well, it's actually just a fortified inn in the middle of the woods...

But people get it for the most part. You can see a couple of strange knights seem to be ready to attack you, but refrain. Seeing you go apeshit on these guys and the large number of friends kind of lowers the chances.

Thankfully the stables were not set alight, but a lot of good men lost a good amount of equipment in that fire...

Quickly done. The man doesn't draw the thing much if ever, he just always keeps it close.

Just in time for the main event.

So, more stories and discussion. I try and be friendly and charming, and I do flirt lightly.

it's a fun evening.

The next day there's a huge hoopla going on, apparently the grown daughters of Oberyn have arrived. Including Obara, Nymeria, Tyene, and Sarella, they'd been waiting for their father in Planky Town but when they heard that the King and the new crown prince had arrived with Clegane's skull that Eddard himself had slain in a duel they decided to go see this for themselves.

Rieverre wrote:"Oh, if I were letting passion blind me I'd be sleeping a lot easier," I reply wryly. "At least for a little while."

She gives you a look at that.

"In a perfect world where people always keep their promises I could maybe claim that I'd never do something like that and mean it. As it is, the best I can do is to the try. And on a note that I'll pretend is almost entirely unrelated, you wouldn't happen to know where I could purchase some Moon Tea?"

Wow are you vague.

Also yes she also mentions that past the first month just have the damn baby otherwise it'll ruin the mother. Lady Arryn is a prime example, if you ask what she means she tells you that women who take moon tea too late into their pregnancy it ruins their wombs permanently. That many miscarriages and still-births aren't normal even for the most infertile woman it would HAVE to have been moon tea after the first month. And you don't want Myranda to be the next Lysa Arryn to ye?

Still, this entire thing is going a lot better thus far than I'd expected it to.

You got lucky.

Also, meh. It might not be proper to ask a Knight to help you move stuff, but I can't say I've ever been very concerned about being a 'proper' knight. Besides, I'm around and I'm offering, and I'm as invested in them successfully transplanting their place and services as they are.

Yes. In fact you learn WHY they didn't touch the stables... there three dead men standing outside your horse's currently open stall. They look like thier heads have been dashed in with a warhammer.

The animal currently looks far, far too smug.

Well I managed to bag two of them they can have fun with them.

"And, and I hate to bring up old wounds... Lyanna Stark. Lets be honest. You need a woman with steel in her spine."

He'll think on it, he's not planning on marrying any time soon.

I actually have heard of just the woman. Illegitimate which lowers the threat to the succession. Tough as nails. Attractive if her bloodline is anything to say. And if you got on it would improve relations with Drone.

I am of course talking about Obara Sand...

Quickly done.  The man doesn't draw the thing much if ever, he just always keeps it close.

Good. Very good.

When I give the signal I want him basically tackled and restrained.

it's a fun evening.

I do regale her in detail about my many humiliations of the Mountain who Rides, including a play by play of his painful death.

I present the skull to Doran, give my respects... then say I have a second gift.

As we all know, Gregor here is the foul monster who murdered Elia and Aegon. Whats not commonly known is the identity of the knight who murdered Rhaenys.

I nod and Lorch who is seized... "May I present to you, the guilty party, Ser Amory Lorch handed over to your custody with the full respects of my father and I in hopes that the souls of your departed can finally find rest in the knowledge that that justice has been done."

Wow are you vague.

Survival trait in the setting. Also, promises are so prone to being broken I'd rather try and dodge making any I'm not absolutely certain I could follow through on ... and still try to dance around any I could.

Also yes she also mentions that past the first month just have the damn baby otherwise it'll ruin the mother.

"Yes, one of the reasons I've retained an able apothecary is to warn me of pitfalls like this before I end up dropping into them."

OOCly: Wasn't Lysa blatantly ODing on it when she felt the need and not taking it in regular doses tho?

I'm fairly certain most other knights would have either killed her outright for it or thrown her into a deep dark hole for daring to cast such slanderous assertions. Others would have immediately begun figuring out how to best use it for blackmail. "I assume there've been more than what was officially claimed but some servants talked regardless?"

Also, this is why you consult your pharmacist or similar medical professional before ingesting any strange substances.

... fuck. I'm morally obligated to let Lord Jon know about this, aren't I? This cannot end well. Still, hopefully it'll end better than in canon.

You got lucky.

Well, I've never been good so that's just about the only option left to me.

Well just don't do it in fancy duds or your armor and no one should notice.

That works. I'll probably pick up a jerkin of studded leather before so I'm not completely without protection tho.

Yes. In fact you learn WHY they didn't touch the stables... there three dead men standing outside your horse's currently open stall. They look like thier heads have been dashed in with a warhammer.

The animal currently looks far, far too smug.

He gives you a long look, even he's heard of her, sounds more like a Jackal than a woman the way some have spoken of her.

Technically only the girls arrived but okay we'll work with this.

He takes the skull and looks at it for a long while. Then with obvious gratitude, he bows his head and thanks you for the justice done for his family.

Lorch doesn't know what hit him, he makes to draw his sword but with a cry of horror sees that he can't draw the thing. He's quickly subdued and forced to kneel before Doran. Doran stares at him long and hard. His dark eyes colder than the blackest Northern night. Then in a tight and controlled voice he says. "We shall wait for my brother to arrive. He has burned for vengeance longer than anyone else for Elia and her children."

Lorch at that point begins to panic, in a feat of strength astounding for his bulk he manages to throw off the men holding him down and makes a mad run for the doors. Do you take him down yourself or have someone else do it?

All I heard was that she took it too late in her pregnancy and she could never carry a child to term again, the only exception being Robin Arryn and he's not exactly any prize.

He gives you a long look, even he's heard of her, sounds more like a Jackal than a woman the way some have spoken of her.

Well I guess I'll have to reconnoiter the road ahead from now on at least until we get close to the capital, the Crownlands are some of the most densely populated parts of Westeros.  There can't be that many places for an ambush here and it isn't that much farther.

You scout ahead and about 2 days later find a band of thugs hiding in the woods. One of them seems to be better dressed and better equipped than the others.

Carefully you sneak up on them and overhear the following...

"Alright, you idiots. Lets see you get it right this time or you'll never see your sevens damned coin... if that boy and his whore sister make it to the capitol it will be all of your heads."

Edd

"Wasn't like I there was much of a choice."

"You could have told Jon 'no'. Or even better yet, crushed the Lannister host and made them a sacrifice to placate Dorne's injured honor. Tywin went well beyond good taste and technically he was also a traitor. You had good reason to raise your banners against the Mad King. As did Ned, Jon, and Hollister. For all of you honor was at stake and his offense against all of you demanded retribution. Tywin had no such excuse. He did it out of greed and arrogance and was rewarded for being a scum sucking fuck. Frankly, in your place, when he showed me the bodies of murdered children I probably would have bodily lifted him up and throw him into the throne. Then ordered his bones left impaled against it as a warning for a thousand generations to those craven honorless fucks like him that there are standards in this world... but that's me."

He laughs and says he look.  Doesn't have his hopes to high though.

We'll see.

"You have all of Dorne's thank for what you did and we will honor that debt."

I smile. "Well, let us make his dead the first step in a long friendship. Friends look out for friends and one day you will be one of my Lord's Paramount. It's my hope that I will be able to look to the south and see you there... a friend and stalwart ally. And I want you to know, you will be able to look north towards King's Landing and know that the Iron Throne wants Dorne to prosper in turn."

Close, though much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, MUCH angrier.

Hey, angry sex is best sex...

"You have all of Dorne's Thanks."

"There's no need for thanks. It's what any honorable man would have done. I'm just thankful for the opportunity to have been the one to bring that monster to justice. For that I thank the gods both old and new."

And you manage to cut him off from the door and clothsline him with utter ease.

I look at him with contempt. "Seriously?"

I KO him after that...

I sneak back to the group and warn them what is ahead. Meanwhile I get my gear on and the hammer at the ready. If one walks into an ambush and knows there is an ambush then the ambushers are usually fucked.

I also mention what the leader said to his followers. Though I leave the whore part out. Curious why they want out of the city so badly.

Edd

"You could have told Jon 'no'. Or even better yet, crushed the Lannister host and made them a sacrifice to placate Dorne's injured honor. "Not an unpleasant idea but unfortunately he had a fresh army while the North, Riverlands, Vale, and Stormlands were exhausted and spent. We'd have never been able to fight Tywin at that point without it costing us dearly. And then the Kingdoms might have split apart then and there....which might not have been the most horrible thing. Would have kept things from getting boring." He chuckles at that.

We'll see.

Her eyes widen when she hears this and after a SCORCHING look of RAGE at the man on the ground she looks you over, seemingly impressed. "So this is man who bested the King-Slayer and the Mountain in a single night. Did you really send the mountain flying into a pillar with a one armed swing?"

Nothing happens.  Finally you don't have to worry a WHIT about some thug or knight complaining about some sort of crotch rot.

... then this might well be the most restful afternoon I've had in recent history. Everyone I tend to worry about is around (well, possibly barring Ser Martyn but he and the knights are big boys, they can look after themselves well enough I'd hope), nothing is being set on fire, there are no immediately concerning matters that need seeing to.

Well, I finish up the manual labor and give Anna that hug, after which I'll check up on how the other three have been getting along (or just Hennah and Myranda, seeing as Mya was hopefully keeping things civil).

"You know, you might have saved us a lot of trouble had you just done your... crazy thing, slaughtered the lot of them then drug the leader back for questioning..."

Edd

"Not an unpleasant idea but unfortunately he had a fresh army while the North, Riverlands, Vale, and Stormlands were exhausted and spent.  We'd have never been able to fight Tywin at that point without it costing us dearly.  And then the Kingdoms might have split apart then and there....which might not have been the most horrible thing.  Would have kept things from getting boring."  He chuckles at that.

I raise an eyebrow. "They were also outnumbered 5-1 and the last thing they would have expected would have been for you to decent upon their camps like a cleansing flame..." I shrug. "That said, I'm looking at it through the lenses of history. You had to deal with those chaotic times on your own..."

There is a slight tightening around her eyes when you mention her becoming Lord Paramount.  It's incredibly faint but it was definitely there.

"It is yours by right. I find many aspects of Rhoynar to be admirable. The treatment of women and bastards being the first among them."

I like my love life to NOT involve sharp objects and bruises, pain is bad when your naked in my book. ALWAYS BAD!

Heh.

"Never-the-less we owe you for your actions."

"It was my pleasure. I hope this will mark a new beginning between our houses. Let the blood of these murders wash away old hatred and usher in a new friendship."

I look at him with contempt. "Seriously?"

Wheezing, he got the wind knocked out of him.

I KO him after that...

And off to la-la-land.

I sigh. "Not quite. He stumbled back into one and tripped after an especially aggressive blow.. Though in the retelling you'd think he had flown across the whole throne room... as for Jamie, well, I caught him pants down only moments from committing a crime against nature with his very naked sister. I offered him clemency in exchange for cooperation. He attempted to draw steel, but I was in no mood for his shenanigans. I'd seen one of his swords, I was in no mood to see the other... so I kicked him in the one that was already swinging freely... with enough force that well..." I chuckle darkly "The mountain never technically went airborn. Lannister on the other hand..."

I glance down at lorch and stage whisper, "and I somehow doubt anyone here would mind terribly much if you were to take a swift kick before he is taken into custody..."

Later on I want to say this to Duran at a moment where we will not be overheard

If you want to deal with the great golden prick, I suggest you talk to Tyrion. If there's anyone in the whole of Westeros with reason to hate him more than you and yours, its him.

Heh heh, very true.

... then this might well be the most restful afternoon I've had in recent history. Everyone I tend to worry about is around (well, possibly barring Ser Martyn but he and the knights are big boys, they can look after themselves well enough I'd hope), nothing is being set on fire, there are no immediately concerning matters that need seeing to.

True.

Well, I finish up the manual labor and give Anna that hug, after which I'll check up on how the other three have been getting along (or just Hennah and Myranda, seeing as Mya was hopefully keeping things civil).

They have kept civil so far though Mya's looking more than a little...frazzled at this point and when she spots you all but begs you with her eyes to break this off pronto.

You manage to find them, but they're all set up and ready for a fight with archers in the wings.

You're either going to have to set the trap yourself or stealth around to find the grand cunt in charge.

Girls. :p

Anyways, polite story telling. I do mention some of my great hunts and I ask her if she practices any martial activities herself?

While she doesn't look like she'd be a weapons fighter, I could easily see her practicing some of the more dance like martial arts or archery. She has the grace, strength, and beauty one would see in someone talented in those arts.

He allows it and the two of you shake.

Big smile.

That sets him laughing as well but he says his brother would be hurt if he didn't get his pound of flesh before hand.

"So true. And I doubt this man has as much of an ounce down there, to say nothing of a pound."

She doesn't have a real problem with it, nor does Robert though he expect you to be able to kick her ass across the courtyard.

I spar with her. Then suggest Robert does the same... and give him a look if he even thinks of refusing. He knows my reasoning and she is a good looking woman...

He'll give a shot though if all the Tower can't deal with his gout he doesn't have too much hope, but he'll try anything at this point.

You...run circles around her, while you don't play with her, or bulldoze her, it's blatantly obvious that she can't take you on really.

Robert, amazes you, he still has a gut, but it's nothing compared to the growing monstrosity that had been there when you arrived in King's Landing, you get a feeling for what the man was like during the Rebellion and the Greyjoy Uprising.

Obara loses again, though it's a MUCH closer fight, you also feel that another month and Robert is going to be back to his prime. And that will be a sight to as as you're convinced Robert in his prime could smash Gregor.

Obara's pissed she lost both times but she's also extremely impressed and she mentions it seems the blood of the old Storm Kings are still flowing strong. Robert is a bit smug that he won this fight but instead of her flying off the handle, he manages to somehow sweet talk her into laughing with him. At the least they seem to be willing to be civil with each other.

And its only pure water so no harm in trying...

Might take some time but it hasn't done anything unpleasant yet.

My apologies.

He's silent for a moment, then he says in very clipped words. "Get. Him. Ready. To. The. Death."

Quicker than you thought possible Lorch and Oberyn are standing in a ring. A man with a large ready to strike to start the fight.

Oberyn stands forward, "You murdered my niece, stabbed her 50 times. I plan to return the favor." He spins his spear around several times.

The drum strikes, a large boom sounding like a massive ax striking home.

Lorch manages to draw his sword, but Oberyn isn't at risk for even an instant.

He toys with the man knocking his sword, shield and eventually his helmet out of his hands and off his head. Then when the man pisses himself and drops to his knees to beg for his life. Oberyn...snaps.

What follows next makes grown men violently sick and women faint. At the end of is a ...mass of punctured and bloody meat is being lifted off the ground on Oberyn's spear. The man howling a wordless shriek of rage.

Any personal fondness aside for the moment, we're far better off together than the alternative."

Then I sigh and my tone turns far less matter-of-fact. "And seeing people I trust at odds hurts."

Considering Gout is uric acid buildup this should clear him out quickly.

He gives you a look but doesn't comment. At this point he's willing to try anything.

"Well, I was trussing him up like a pig to the slaughter and he already so looks the part. Though I'd compete it."

"That it does."

I stand back and watch.

Might be a splash zone.

And this is what I was hoping for from moment one. I look... extremely pleased with myself. And I'm sure Robert is going to enjoy this tool

Heh

I smile at this. I've been wanting to do this to the bastard since he joined our party. I put up with him for months for this very moment. This is a reward for all of us.

Heh

I pass Robert a wineskin of wine (not Arbor Gold, as Robert can no longer stand it) and whisper. "Man looks like he could use a drink... how about a toast to loved ones lost? You both lost someone special in that fucking war. To their memories."

Robert gives you a look but nods, taking the skin he cautiously approaches the man, when he's just outside of spear range he clears his throat. The wild killer snaps his attention to him, just at the meat finally sloughs off the spear and hits the ground with a meaty thwack.

Robert then offers the skin and says that seeing how the murderers of Oberyn's kin are dead, their master humiliated and all his dreams and plans up in smoke, he hopes that the bad blood between house Martell and house Baratheon is gone and that they can be friends.

Oberyn tilts his head in a disturbing manner for a moment, before righting his head, smiling and takes the wineskin which he takes a long pull from.

He then speaks, "Maybe not friends but I think we can get along well enough now."

An ASSLOAD of tension dissipates right then and there.

Rieverre wrote:"This is still not as awkward as things would have been if I'd just left off until we were leaving."

Heh

And I still have no idea how to deal with the whole thing.

... okay, this is a bad idea, but blunt honesty's worked out for me thus far ...

Myranda should know me well enough to realize how much I consider this kind of passive aggressive politeness useless and Hennah should have gotten some idea of it by now too.

True but she isn't exactly tickled mister too busy for girls suddenly has this girl in his life as well right when you finally figure out she's pined after you for years. That and Hennah's kinda egging it just a hair.

"This isn't just idle fancy. Myranda is far better than I could ever be at navigating politics, something likely to come up sooner rather than later by the time we're back in the Crownlands, and she might well keep daggers out of all our backs. And I was always going to be dealing with the risk of injury or poison simply due to who and what I am. As was Mya. As were the people close to either of us. Any personal fondness aside for the moment, we're far better off together than the alternative."

Then I sigh and my tone turns far less matter-of-fact. "And seeing people I trust at odds hurts."

That...seems to mollify and embarrass the two of them and the two of them apologize to each other and you as well. Maybe not friends but they promise to try and get along.

What happens next is an act of Epic Badassery that would fit any AAA hollywood action film. You quickly liberate one of them from his bow, and silently you sneak around either slitting throats, breaking necks, or filling people with arrows. It's not the fastest but not a single one of them sees it coming. Even when the last man is brought down, an arrow through his eye, he had no idea that the others were anything but standing ready.

Once they're dealt with, I drag leader boy back with me to the others where we get some questions answered.

You dump him down. He's still out like a light.

When it's explained, all of them get his hard look. Yep. There's gonna be torture!

He wakes up tired to a stool naked, his legs wide spread...

"You want to do the honors boy?"

Edd

How good are you with knifes?

I toss a knife up into the air, and then with the same motion catch it by the blade and throw it over my shoulder to get a bulls eye.

"Passable."

THen I repeat 2 more times.

And she appreciates it.

I'm glad.

They let you go and you head to find the young lady.

I'll have to ask how they got on later.

First time I've ever WANTED Robert to end up with a woman in his bed...

When you find her she greets you and congratulates you on your bout.

Thank you. It was a pleasure and an honor. He cousin is quite the warrior. There are few others, man or woman, whom I'd rather have by my side in a scrape.

He gives you a look but doesn't comment.  At this point he's willing to try anything.

"Good luck." And it's left at that.

"That it does."

"You know, normally I don't like to see others belittled or humiliated... but hes one of those men whom no matter what you do to him, you just can't feel bad because he'll always deserve worse."

Might be a splash zone.

Like I said, stand back.

Robert gives you a look but nods, taking the skin he cautiously approaches the man, when he's just outside of spear range he clears his throat.  The wild killer snaps his attention to him, just at the meat finally sloughs off the spear and hits the ground with a meaty thwack.

He then speaks, "Maybe not friends but I think we can get along well enough now."

I smile. It's a start. "To justice done."

I look down at the body. "So, might suggest... matching book ends?"

Laugh or not, lets move on.
