They're still magically restricted from saying many of the fine details. They're magically sworn to secrecy to keep some fool from blabbing what it consists of to the world. The actual nature of the contest is secret. Get the High Priest to allow them to speak to you and they'll happily tell you everything.

Alright, the competition is still off-limits until I've talked with the High Priest. What about my transformation, then? Any details they can tell me about that?

The younger sister grins. "As your handmaidens we are best suited to guard your person, command your armies, and speak for you when you need envoys as we are experts in the court..." she starts to flush.

"No need to give me such a sales pitch; I'm quite happy with my choice of handmaidens," I tell them with a chuckle before giving both of them a deep kiss.

The Lamia scowls a bit. "I have a much more... realistic..." she gets a glare. "Grasp on my skill set. I'm a mage of middling power and have reasonable bureaucratic and library experience along with basic ritual knowledge. I believe I would serve you best in a cleric role. I have no need for grandiose power and authority. I am happier behind the scenes and content in the knowledge that I help make everything possible."

The Spider grins. "The details of what I want to be are for your ears only, sire... but for the moment I could serve as a security expert... those two hotheads..."

If I can't find anything else to discuss with her since she isn't interested in opening up to personal matters, I then ask her if she would like to give me a tour of the garden after the explanation about the brain-eater, I'm morbidly curious about the others.  I offer her my arm (IF THAT'S CULTURALLY DONE!) then we take a walk through the place.  After the walk and it's relatively late, we'll head for the exit and I say, "Well this was very enjoyable evening Princess I hope we can do this soon.  Shall I escort you back to your quarters before I head to mine?"

And she has no problem with you escorting her to her wing.

Either way I then head to my own and I then go to deal with my Handmaidens and concubines.

IT seems that this Handmaiden really didn't like her Emperor much. She was loyal and did her job, but he always neglected her in favor of his concubines and first handmaiden. She was a bit too frumpy personality wise for him. He was rather flighty while she was an extremely no nonsense personality, and very focused and task oriented. She also disagreed stongly with a number of his policies which she saw as excessive beyond the limits of necessity.

Even now the demons respect him for his power but they're frankly glad he died... they just wish he'd been maybe a bit more forward looking when it comes to the mechanics of his magical throne...

I want to try and pin down the notable ones among those - hell, I'll ask the Handmaidens as well, they should know at least something about that - on the off-chance that one left behind an instruction manual or journal of some kind.

So, my handmaidens and I probably spend the rest of the day having sex in various different and mind-blowing ways, while using the breaks in-between bouts to talk about ourselves, our pasts, our interests, and so on, until we're feeling frisky again, then repeating the whole thing.

Next morning, if the Demon Maid again comes to wake me, I'll talk with my handmaidens about inviting her to join us for a bit of carefree, no-strings-attached sex, to spice things up, before taking another bath and then seeing if there's any agenda for the day already laid out, like the breakfast.

If there isn't, task my Lamia Concubine with researching, and then setting up a summary, about how the Demon Realm's government works. Ie, whether there are fixed minister-posts, or some kind of senate/assembly, and so on. Best get an idea of how things work, and who I should talk to, as quickly as possible.

Then, seek out Arachne, so I can talk with her about her Boon.

In addition to that, I'll also want to talk with the Orc General and the Duke, later in the day, if that can be arranged.

And if there is any large gap in time, where I got an hour or two of free time, see about going somewhere nice with my handmaidens, or doing something we enjoy (not necessarily sex ). Otherwise keep getting to know them.

It's pretty much a dictatorship. the only constant is the fedual relationship between the clans and emperor. The rest is entirely up to the whim of the emperor. One of the reasons stablizing new things is so hard... that said demons don't mind. If anything it keeps things from getting boring.

What she wants is to be recognized as the Spider Queen and have her title and rank backed with imperial authority... and to be given the resources needed to secure it...

Ah, misunderstanding, then; I'd somehow gotten the impression that we were talking about the Oni sisters' uncle/father, the one that got killed, rather than the first emperor.

Problem is that I usually avoid reading other's posts, to avoid spoilerizing myself and getting influenced.
Since they're based on Scanty and Kneesocks, I suppose they use conjured or otherwise magically created weapons (scythes/axes in case of Kneesocks/Haisoksu, guns/crossbows in case of Scanty/Kaisho)?
Aside from that, I'm interested in any hobbies they might have or what they otherwise enjoy doing when they're not working, and whether they have any relatives, friends or acquaintances they'd like to stay in contact with.

Depends on whether they have any preferences. I'd be interested in visiting some of the Demon Realm's landmarks. Getting a view of the imperial capital, visit the local Mt. Doom expy, that sort of thing.

Though I'm definitely filing away the fact that visiting the mortal realm isn't a problem for later. Maybe have a picnic in the mountains, or spend some time chilling out on a tropical island.
